My work is a personal journey of exploration into the world of color and texture.

After my four children were raised I was able to resume my work towards my MFA at Fiberworks in Berkeley, and accredited by JFK University in Orinda, Ca. where I explored a variety of mediums ( paper making, collage, weaving and painting) and, in the end, focused on my passion for textiles. The rich tactile textures of silk, wool, and cotton in deep colors gets my creative juices going.

After my graduate show at the Nevada Museum of Art, the curator asked me to become her research assistant. Involvement in the many aspects of the museum kept me on the administrative side of the museum for many years, and after three terms on the Board of Directors I returned to my own studio work. My focus was on creating large scale tapestries for architects and Interior Designers for public and private spaces. My work now resides in four permanent collections in Reno; The Renown Hospital, The Nevada Museum of Art, The City of Reno at City Hall, and The University of Nevada Health Sciences Building and in many private collections.

Having always been a lover of gem stones, in retirement I began pursuing jewelry design. I enjoy the challenge of re-working old pieces, calling my collection “Rewired Vintage.” My current work includes necklaces often crafted from old broaches, and multi- strand Treasure Necklaces highlighting small crosses, unique little finds, and unusual bead combinations.

I enjoy teaching at The Nevada Museum of Art  offering “Introduction to Tapestry Making,” and “ Intermediate Tapestry” and in Rio Verde  teaching “Jewelry 101 basic stringing,” and “Jewelry 201 multi strand necklaces.”
