Exploring Abstract Expressive Art: Mixed Media

Join Kathy every Tuesday in March to explore the multiple ways the “elements of art and the principles of design” can be used in our artwork. We will be using colored pencils, pen and ink, acrylic paint, stencils, and stamps to create abstract art. Peer review and self-evaluation will be an important part of each meeting.

Supplies Attendees to Bring
Watercolors, acrylic paints- soft body, or fluid, pencils, pens, 1/2" flat brush, and any other brushes you like to use. If you have any stencils or stamps, papers for collage, anything you think would be good for stamping.

Supplies Provided
Canvases, stencils, pens, colored pencils, textured pastes, retarder, and gloss glaze

Cost of Workshop
$25 per class. Place check made out to Kathy Brancheau in the Rio Verde Alphabox or bring to class.

About Kathy

Kathy has been working artistically all her life. Blending art school instruction with many self-taught techniques, Early in her career, Kathy strove to depict Mother Nature’s beauty in her paintings. Now, she delights in working in intuitive and impressionistic style using mixed media. Looking for the "awe" factor in everyday life inspires her creativity. Recently, she received 1st and 2nd place for Acrylic and mixed media in the 2022 Fountain Hills juried art show.
